(From the Left) Neil Gibson (Twisted Dark), April Adams (Gwen7Saga), Celia Peters (Godspeed), Marcus Williams and Greg Burnham (Tuskegee Heirs) and me at our standing room only panel! I'll admit that I was *very* surprised and a little intimidated by the turnout, but the crowd was wonderful.
Man! What a month! Since late September when I had the privilege of participating in the wonderful Creatures, Crimes and Creativity Convention in Columbia, MD, I have been going! From exhibiting, hosting and moderating panels at New York Comic Con (NYCC) and BARR Weekend to teaching a workshop on world-building with the Diverse Writers of Speculative Fiction non-profit, I've had an event every single weekend since the end of September. Did I mention that we also launched Phase I of Narazu, my new online platform for helping sci-fi fans find the best indie sci-fi and comic culture content on the planet.
I've been so outside my comfort zone it isn't even funny. As a natural introvert, it's certainly been a challenge, but it's also been an incredible blessing. In the past month, I've had a chance to meet incredible authors and learn from their experience, teach what I've learned from over 4 years in publishing to a new generation of creators, and extend myself beyond anything I thought I would ever do by coordinating my first ever promo video for Narazu.
Narazu Promo Video: This is me, all made up and sort-of ready for my close up. I'd never been videotaped like this before and my introvert was definitely showing. The videographer, Khomari Flash, was amazing and helped me work though all my nerves.
I also got the chance to reconnect with some incredible readers who have been with me since my very first book! It was also really special to share pre-release copies of To Find You with some of my most avid fans. With almost 80 copies sold, the reception was incredible!
Me with some of THE BEST fans in the known universe! Mari, Melonie, Melissa, Jeff Carroll and his wonderful family (plus, my Mom), Abayomi & Jasmine, and Buck! And there are SO many more. You can check out all my pictures here!
In short, it's been awesome. If you've attended any of the events that I attended over the past month, I know I promised to share some links and resources on my website and, at long last, here they are (below). Thank you for your patience and best of luck in all that you do! XO - Cerece
